Karin El-Monir
Karin is a qualified consultant, educator and psychotherapist with over 20 years experience in the business and human services sector. When she is not zipping around on 3 wheels or planning the next colour scheme for her hair, she is passionate about applying systems thinking and neurobiology to the manifold challenges of the human existence.
BACKGROUND
Karin El-Monir was born and raised in Austria. She completed a Masters Degree of Social Pedagogy (theories of human development and learning). Upon completion of her university studies, Karin decided to become certified with the European Coaching Academy as a systemic coach and consultant.
Throughout her career of 25 years, Karin has worked in a wide range of settings, allowing her to learn about human behaviour and challenges to behaviour change and wellbeing. Karin’s experience includes working in a front-line capacity with professionals from a range of different industries, witnessing first-hand the impact of burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious/ secondary trauma. This has fuelled her interest in preventing these issues from occurring in the first place.
Karin also worked as a manger, completing a management qualification, and managing mid-sized teams.
In this process, Karin developed a strong passion for systemic change as a way of achieving change in the lives of individuals and communities.
Coming from a family background with strong ties to the business community, Karin was also asked to apply her skills to business and corporate settings. She has worked with businesses and organisations to achieve culture change and to bring human-centredness to professional practice.
Karin has professional experience in her home country of Austria and in Ireland where she spent 5 years trying to find the end of the rainbow.
After moving to Australia, Karin founded her consultancy and training practice in 2015. Noreia Consultancy Space provides services to businesses, organisations, and corporate entities, mainly focusing on sustainable change towards healthy culture and increased wellbeing in the workforce. She is currently working with state and federal government departments, businesses and health organisations, providing tailored solutions to systemic challenges.
Karin has undertaken intensive learning in systemic approaches and neurobiology and applies these concepts to both her consultancy and training work. She is a qualified psychotherapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Brain Spotting Practitioner, and is in the process to be certified in Deep Brain Reorienting.
OUR VALUES
Open Mindedness
Noreia Consultancy Space aims to apply a neurobiological understanding to the fact that we all hold unconscious bias which can influence our thinking and behaviour. Noreia Consultancy Space is committed to continued reflection and learning with the aim to challenge the mind towards openness, possibility, and a growth mindset.
Inclusivity
Noreia consultancy Space aspires to conduct its business in alignment with inclusivity and understanding of the complex challenges humans can be faced with. This includes aiming to be cognisant of how deeply and adversely the experiences of exclusion, marginalisation, racism, colonialism and other forms of oppression can have on human lives.
Human Centredness & Compassion
Noreia Consultancy Space aims to hold a compassionate mindset when being faced with humans in their struggles and challenges, acknowledging that it can be challenging to be a human in the world. Humans can be faced with many adversities and challenges that can manifest as obstacles to their development, as well as create restrictions to both thinking and behaviour. This includes staying in compassion in tasks, such as managing difficult behaviour, setting boundaries and guiding accountability.
